2 day school week

This week we had Monday and Tuesday off.  But my Wednesday coming back was fully booked.  I had a huge midterm last night in Western Literature which was extremely hard and a lot of writing.  I studied every day little by little over my long weekend.  Next, I had an online quiz for my education class to complete.  It was 25 questions but it was a tad difficult.  Finally I had a 2-3 page paper due in my writing class.  We had to take a topic and turn it into an argument.  I did mine on having schools push an anti-bullying policy.  Some other of  my classmates did topics on: school uniforms, not having to pay for textbooks,  not having to take the social studies test if you are not a history major, not having to pay to use the cafeteria and some other good ideas that you can make great arguments out of.  Do you guys have any good ideas for topics? Or anything to add to my anti-bullying topic?  My final copy is due next Wednesday so your thoughts would be a terrific help!

  1. Hi,

My school district is really taking the anti-bullying policy extremely serious. As a substitute teacher and all the other staff and faculty must complete a 2 hour HIB (Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying) training course. Mine is set for this Tuesday. While doing my hours on Friday, I sat in on an assembly for the students. Most of the students were really taking it serious, watching the videos, listening and participating in the question and answer portions. What upset me though, was this group of 8th grade boys who were cutting up, talking during the assembly and no one did anything about it. I will post more about the training program after I attend it. There are two sessions, so I hope to get to the first one this week. I thought it was a great idea to make it mandatory for the substitute teachers. We see things too and want to do the responsible thing for the students.
